About the event
Neil A. Barclay is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, one of the world’s largest institutions dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and celebrating African American history and culture. Since assuming leadership in 2019, Mr. Barclay has guided the Museum through a period of renewed strategic focus, expanded community engagement, and national visibility.
Prior to joining The Wright, Mr. Barclay served as President and CEO of the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, where he led organizational growth and strengthened philanthropic partnerships. His career also includes serving as Founding President and CEO of the August Wilson Center in Pittsburgh and Associate Director of the Performing Arts Center at The University of Texas at Austin. Earlier in his career, he played a key role in cultural planning and historic preservation efforts, including the redevelopment of Los Angeles’ Vision Theater.
